Brief Discussion
Prevalence: 5-50% of all varicella infections in adults
CXR
– Multiple 5-10 mm ill-defined nodules
– Hilar lymphadenopathy, pleural effusion are unusual
– Resolve within a week after the disappearance of the skin lesions
–
Persist for several weeks: numerous, well-defined, randomly scattered, 2-3-mm dense calcifcations
–
1-10 mm well-defined and ill-defined nodules diffusely throughout both lungs

Nodules with a ground-glass halo, pathcy GGO, coalescence of nodules
