0.7-4.5% of mediastinal tumors
• Most are present at birth and are detected in the first 2 yrs
• <5% of lymphangiomas are limited to the mediastinum itself
• Anterior (28-37%) or superior (16-36%) mediastinum in adults
•
Usually well circumscribed and localized, but may appear to envelop mediastinal structures
