- Axial images through the upper, mid, and lobar bronchus, respectively show typical appearance of diffuse, uniform tracheal and bronchial wall thickening with sparing of the posterior membranous wall of the trachea and bronchi. Areas of dense calcium deposition within the thickened tracheobronchial cartilage are seen.
